Abstract:

In this talk, we would concentrate on two articles (written by Fraser and Stephens, respectively), contrast two different ontological readings on kinds (lei, 类) of Later Mohists — kind-realism (proposed by Chris Fraser) and kind-conventionalism (proposed by Daniel Stephens), re-read the original texts of Later Mohists, and try to construct the argumentation structures of Fraser and Stephens.
