题目:Knowledge: paradoxical or ambiguous?
报告人:Prof. Barteld Kooi (University of Groningen)
摘要:
In logic, paradoxes are seemingly sound argumentations that lead to contradiction or otherwise unacceptable conclusions. These phenomena force philosophers to reevaluate their conceptual framework and to hopefully improve them.
There are a number of paradoxes which revolve around the concept of knowledge such as the knower's paradox, the knowability paradox, the hangman paradox, etc. What can we learn about the concept of knowledge from these paradoxes and how does it improve our understanding of the concept of knowledge?
